Original title: Downloads won't complete.
Trying to download a driver to regain sound for my DVD/CD player...downloads only complete 99%, then stops.  No error messages or anything.  When I retry the download, the same thing happens.

Which web browser are you using to download the driver file?

Does the issue persist when tried to download other programs?
3.
Did you make any changes prior to the issue?
Try the following steps and check the result.
Step 1: Delete temporary files using Disk Cleanup tool

Check if the issue persists.
Step 2: Uncheck "Read-only" option for Temp folder

Click Start, type %temp%, right click on Temp folder and click Properties.

Uncheck "Read-only" option and click ok.

Check if you're able to download the files.
Step 3: If the issue persists, check if you're able to download in safe mode with networking and post back the details

From the advanced boot options menu, select safe mode with networking and hit enter.

Check if the issue persists.
