Delete Selected Files from Backup

I am running Windows 7 and using the backup utility.
When I first backed up my computer I included several large folders of video files that I no longer need.  These take up a lot of space on my backup drive.  Is it possible to delete these folders without deleting the whole backup file?  I want to delete
selected folders from a specific backup date without deleting the entire backup.

The method Windows 7 uses to backup a large file is to break it up into a series of small zip files, the large the file the larger the number of Zip files.
Each file starts with a header which may include several small file as part of one zip
file or contain only 1 file.
