4.5 minute boot time since Win7 upgrad...2 other Win7 machines, including one other upgrade with lower specs, running great in this house.

Hello,

I installed Home Premium x64 upgrade over the equiv Vista SP2 system.
All's well except the boot time being so slow.
I went into msconfig startup and unchecked all the unnecessary files that were starting, and that brought it down from around 6 mintues to the
time you see above.

I took it in to BestBuy and he thought that the bootlog had somhow been corrupted during the upgrade process.
He said he's seen this a few times and the best bet would be back up my data (it's always dbl-backed up, but I still hate the thought of what I'm about
to say), reinstall Vista, and then re-run the upgrade.

Thoughts before I wipe the thing? It's a fairly new machine, about 6 months old, good configuration, forget the exact speed of processor but it's Intel 2.2 2 Duo Core something or other I think, and 4 Ram 2x2.
Could it just be that Sony filled up the upgrade
disk with a bunch of its stupid bloatware?

Appreciate your input, but please keep it accessible--have seen some advice come through that I would never understand.
:\
