any ways to retrieve contacts from prevcious MS Outlook?

Hi,
I have just re-installed my windows 7 and the one thing i did not back up was my contacts from my MS Outlook.
When i downloaded a new MS Office from the internet and sync my Outlook with my iPhone, then i realised that all my contacts in my phone are gone.Is
there a way to retrieve back my contacts which are stored inside that Outlook which was in my laptop previously?

Do you have a Windows.old directory on your windows drive? If so, you should be able to retrieve your old Outlook.pst file and do a file /import operation on it to retrieve your contacts.
You can browse windows.old with windows explorer.
